Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and innovative Community Nursery Nurse to join the Health Visiting Service in Wrexham, North Wales. The post holder will facilitate one-to-one, group, and community work to address health inequalities. They will deliver parent support, health promotion, and care programmes, providing services to families as identified by the Health Visitor. The role also involves contributing to public health initiatives and implementing and evaluating planned programmes of care.
Essential criteria
- Basic Education
- NNEB/National diploma in childhood Studies or equivalent qualification
Desirable criteria
- Further qualifications and/or experience related to the job description
- Information Technology/keyboard skills qualifications
- Previous experience of working with infants and children and parents/carers
- Experience in community or health related field
- Aptitude and Abilities
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to plan own work
- Ability to work in a team and develop a good working relationship with other agencies
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literate
- Awareness of the Children's NSF and working knowledge of child protection procedures
- Child development
- Awareness of child behaviour management techniques
- Knowledge of play activities related to child development
- Ability to speak Welsh
- Clear communication methods for young people and carers/parents with a disability
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques
- Knowledge of recent advances in the sphere of public health.
- Knowledge of local and national initiatives impacting on health and service provision
- Values
- Additional demonstrable qualities that may be beneficial to the role, e.g. care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment.Motivated. Commitment to high standards of care.Commitment to self development

Job summary
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative Community Nursery Nurse to join our Health Visiting Service in Wrexham, North Wales . We are looking for a self-motivated team player who has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will facilitate one to one, group and community work that aims to address Health inequalities in partnership with the wider multi-skilled team. He/she will take a key role in delivering parent support, health promotion and programmes of care. He/she will provide a service to families as identified in the needs assessment carried out by the Health Visitor and undertake planned packages of support through implementing and evaluating planned programmes of care. In addition, the post holder will contribute to the public health role in line with government public health initiatives.
The Health Board offers an Induction Course and ongoing Clinical Supervision and support from its Safeguarding Children Team and opportunities for in house training.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
