Role summary
This role involves delivering developmental support and programmes for care support workers within the Trust. Key responsibilities include coordinating and delivering the Care Certificate induction, focusing on theory and clinical skills. The post holder will collaborate with other clinical training leads to develop healthcare support workers across nursing, midwifery, and allied health professions. Regular clinical work with care support workers is also required to maintain their skills.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver developmental support and programmes for care support workers.
- Coordinate and deliver the Care Certificate induction, covering theory and clinical skills.
- Work collaboratively with clinical training leads to formulate development programmes for healthcare support workers.
- Work clinically with care support workers to support and maintain their clinical skills.
Essential criteria
- NMC registration
- Evidence of continued professional development
- NMC approved Mentorship qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years clinical /management experience.
- Experience of working with senior managers in the organisation to identify and support skills development
- Substantial experience of supervision and assessment of learners within the clinical setting
- Evidence of successful development of the clinical learning environment for students
- Able to respond rapidly and authoritatively to changing organisational situations and to reset objectives
- Experience in communicating sensitive and challenging information
- Able to think creatively, analyse and solve complex problems
- Understanding of audit and evaluation processes
- Understanding of the requirements for Preceptorship using best practice guidelines
- Understanding of quality monitoring processes
Desirable criteria
- PG Certificate in Education
- Practice Teacher course /Sign Off Mentor qualification
- Evidence of development of interprofessional learning opportunities
- Evidence of formal teaching and programme planning
