Role summary
This role is for a committed Nurse passionate about working with children and young people with ADHD within Kingston and Richmond CAMHS. The post holder will provide flexible, timely responses for ADHD medication titration, GP Shared Care reviews, and psycho-social support. It involves joint working with consultants, non-medical prescribers, therapists, GPs, and partnership agencies. The role supports the post holder through preceptorship to acquire skills for a Band 7 position after completing Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a flexible, timely response to young people and their families accessing services for ADHD medication titration.
- Conduct GP Shared Care routine medication reviews.
- Offer psycho-social support for young people with ADHD and their families.
- Facilitate joint working with team consultants, non-medical prescribers, and therapists.
- Collaborate with local GPs and partnership agencies.
- Undertake Nurse prescriber training while working alongside team medics and NMPs.
Essential criteria
- A minimum of 2 years working at a Band 5/6 level in a child and young people setting.
- Currently working as a Band 5 or 6 Nurse
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- RMN (current NMC registration)/ or Paediatric nursing
- ENB 998 or equivalent
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Eligible to undertake the NMP course (be a registered level 1 nurse (RN) or midwife with the NMC, have a minimum of 12 months registration as a registered level 1 nurse (RN) or midwife with the NMC, have practiced as a registered level 1 nurse (RN) or midwife full-time (or the equivalent part-time) for a year immediately preceding application to the module in the clinical field in which the applicant intends to prescribe, have a minimum of a first level degree)

- Experience of supervising other staff
- Experience of working with children and young people in a community setting
- Experience of working with children and young people with ADHD
- Additional specialist training specific to adolescent mental health

Job summary
Kingston and Richmond CAMHS are multidisciplinary teams specialising in the provision of high-quality assessments and evidence-based treatments for children, young people and their families presenting to the service with moderate to severe mental health problems and/or Neuropsychiatric difficulties.
We are looking for a committed Nurse who is passionate about working with children and young people with ADHD, who is interested in wider service development initiatives and eligible to undertake the Nurse prescriber training.
