Role summary

This role is for a Band 3 Senior Healthcare Assistant in the Emergency Department. You will work as part of an established team, providing holistic care to patients and their families under the supervision of Emergency nurses. The position involves clinical and administrative support, utilising extended skills to deliver high standards of care and promoting a positive, supportive working environment. You must be skilled, experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated with excellent communication skills.

Essential criteria

  • oAt least 2 years recent acute hospital experience
  • oAble to demonstrate good team working oGood interpersonal skills with all levels of staff and patients oAbility to work unsupervised and use own initiative oExcellent communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with patients / families / carers / team members oAbility to understand work related boundaries and refer matters of importance to a senior colleague oAbility to follow detailed instruction oAbility to document efficiently and effectively oHave a flexible approach to meet the changing needs of the service oTo be a caring , trustworthy, enthusiastic and motivated individual with a willingness to learn and develop the role
  • oCompetent in the use of manual blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and weight and able to record and interpret the measurements.
  • oVenepuncture/ cannulation oECG
  • oVenous Blood gases oBladder scan
  • oCompetently support qualified staff in managing flow of patients through their designated area.
  • oCompetently support qualified staff in managing safe effective care by timely treatment's and care provision.
  • oMust embed kindness in all practice
  • oLiase with specialities, allied health care professionals confidently in the best interests of the patients care and treatment
