Role summary
The Estates Department is looking for a full-time Band 5 Maintenance Electrician to join their multi-disciplined team. This role involves providing a comprehensive electrical service to all wards and departments, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards. The successful candidate will also provide emergency response and undertake on-call duties to address out-of-hours repairs. A level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification or equivalent is required.
Key responsibilities

- Attend to emergency repairs occurring out of normal hours.
Essential criteria
- Good level of written and verbal English skills
- Working in a team
- Capable of Working in a demanding service line
- Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision
- Ability to work to deadlines
- 18th Edition IEE wiring regulations
- NVQ 3 in Electrical Installations or BTEC ONC in Electrical Engineering or City and Guilds in Electrical Engineering
- Time served apprenticeship
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Post qualification of experience working as an Electrician
- Broad experience in Electrical services including Electrical Power & lighting, Electrical distribution equipment, Motors, Pumps and controls
Desirable criteria
- City & Guilds 2392 Inspection and Testing Certificate
- Experience of working on Emergency lighting, Emergency Generators, Nurse Call Systems, Auto door systems, Entry systems
- Experience of working in an Acute Hospital/Healthcare environment
- Knowledge of various Health & Safety Legislation as applicable to core trade
- Knowledge of COSHH
