Role summary
This role involves scheduling appointments for the Imaging Directorate, ensuring local and national waiting time targets are met. The post holder will communicate with patients, monitor waiting lists, and handle enquiries face-to-face or over the phone. It requires excellent communication skills, flexibility, and reliability to deliver a first-class service. Occasional weekend working may be required.
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 2 GCSEs / O levels (bands A - C) Maths & English or equivelant experience
- IT skills
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in admin / clerical / customer service related area
- ECDL / other IT qualification
- Experience in using CRIS
- Computerised systems with the ability to use the Microsoft package
- Handling confidential/sensitive information
- Minimum of one year's experience of dealing with patients / public / customers, either face to face or via the telephone, on a daily basis.
- Minimum of one year's experience of working in the NHS or other complex organisations
- Experience of working in an appointment booking environment
- Experience in dealing with waiting lists and targets
- Experience of working in the NHS

- Excellent standard of literacy and numeracy
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work to defined protocols and seek advice where appropriate
