Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 7 Advanced Tissue Viability Nurse to join a specialist service in North Central Division. The role involves expert assessment, management, and evaluation of complex wounds across various community settings. You will provide clinical leadership, promote evidence-based practice, and support the multidisciplinary team through specialist advice and education. The position also contributes to clinical audit, quality improvement, and service development, aiming to enhance tissue viability care and patient outcomes.
Essential criteria
- BSc level CPD in Tissue Viability related discipline.
- NMC Registration.
Desirable criteria
- BSc in Tissue Viability
- Recent clinical nursing experience negotiating and liaising within a multi- disciplinary team
- Experience in working with people with complex health needs
- Supporting students and other learners e.g. HCAs teaching others in the practice environment
- Experience of undertaking general assessment by using evidence based care.
- Experience of prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, care planning and fluent in record keeping.
- Experience of providing holistic care that involves the multidisciplinary team
- Leading audits; research projects; service development
- Post registration experience in tissue viability treatments, including compression therapy, NPWT, debridement and skin care.
- Skills and Knowledge
- Experience of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patents with Tissue Viability and related needs
- Ability to organise and motivate self and others.
- Independent decision making with appropriate reference to others.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
- Collaborative working with colleagues including those of differing disciplines.
- A record of personal/professional development that shows progression
- Critical Appraisal
- Working Knowledge of present NHS policies and direction
- Experience of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to listen effectively and ability to give constructive feedback to clients and colleagues.
- Time management skills.

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Band 7 Advanced Tissue Viability Nurse to join our specialist Tissue Viability Service within the North Central Division.
Working closely with the Specialist Lead, you will support the day-to-day delivery of the Tissue Viability service, providing expert assessment, management and evaluation of complex wounds across a range of community settings, including complex wound clinics, patients' homes and nursing homes across Barnet.
You will provide clinical leadership, promote evidence-based practice and support the wider multidisciplinary team through specialist advice, education and supervision . The role will also contribute to clinical audit, quality improvement and service development, helping to drive high standards of tissue viability care and improve patient outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse with a passion for complex wound care and tissue viability to develop their advanced clinical and leadership skills within a supportive specialist team.
