Role summary
This role is for a compassionate, creative, and self-motivated mental health professional to join a team providing assessment, signposting, and short-term treatment services. You will work autonomously within GP networks and other Gloucestershire Health and Care Teams, offering assessments, consultation, and support. The role involves working with individuals in face-to-face, video, and telephone appointments, utilising psychological interventions. You will also participate in supervision and mentor students.
Key responsibilities
- Provide assessment, treatment, and signposting to other community services based on health promotion, recovery, and socially inclusive principles.
- Work alongside GP surgeries and other partnership agencies, providing face to face, video, and telephone appointments.
- Use initiative as an autonomous worker to make decisions about which services will best serve patients.
- Participate in supervision and mentor students.
Essential criteria
- Core Health Professional Qualification. Registered Nurse (Mental Health) or Social Worker or Occupational Therapist
- Current Professional Body Registration [NMC or HCPC or Social Work England]
- Demonstrable post qualification experience in mental health or related area
- Experience of working within community setting
- Extensive experience of first line assessments including the assessment of risk
- Working knowledge of recovering approach and social inclusion
- Experience of collaboration working with other agencies including the voluntary sector
- Full driving license valid for the UK
- Own vehicle with ability to insure for business use and to use for travel in connection with work
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of post registration learning
- Registered as a Nurse Independent/Supplementary Prescriber with the NMC
- Formal Teaching & Assessing Course
- Experience of providing short term evidence based interventions e.g. CBT, Brief solution focussed therapy

Job summary
This role is offered on a permanent basis . The hours are part-time, 30 hours per week.
Compassionate, creative & self-motivated mental health professionals are required to help us continue to offer a truly great assessment, signposting and short-term treatment service.
Our health care professional teams, some of whom are Non-Medical Prescribers (NMP), work across the county in local teams.
We require forward thinking individuals who have an interest in working in a Mental Health Primary Care context within local GP networks and other Gloucestershire Health and Care Teams, offering assessment, consultation and support to General Practice staff and colleagues in the voluntary and third sector.
