Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Band 6 Rotational Physiotherapy Scheme at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Key responsibilities
- Participate in the Band 6 rotational scheme across different hospital sites and settings.
- Provide specialist physiotherapy services in respiratory medicine, cardiothoracic surgery/cardiology, and paediatric respiratory/surgical services.
- Independently perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment and deliver individualised treatment programmes.
- Manage own patient caseload and work as an autonomous practitioner.
- Supervise, educate, and assess the performance of physiotherapy students and junior staff.
- Undertake evidence-based audit, formulate guidelines, and research projects.
Essential criteria
- Degree BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy
- Evidence of Health and Care Professions Council registration
- Experience at Band 5/6 level gained from post registration rotations in the cardiac/respiratory field
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD)
- Good theoretical knowledge of physiotherapy in cardio-respiratory field
- Ability to work independently & support others
- Able to organise, prioritise and delegate workload
- Ability to pass on skills/knowledge to others within both formal and informal environments
- Able to work within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable criteria
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
- Experience at Band 6 level
- Participation in audit and research
- Supervision of students

Job summary
An exciting opportunity to join the B6 Rotational Physiotherapy Scheme across The Royal Brompton Hospital and Paediatric Respiratory services at The Evalina, St Thomas Hospital, gaining respiratory experience from a variety of rotations.
Each rotation is 9 months and includes Cystic Fibrosis, Chronic Respiratory, Paediatrics and Critical Care and Cardiothoracics. There is a comprehensive training program on each rotation and an emphasis on quality improvement and research across the trust with 10 days of study leave a year allocated to each staff member.
