Role summary
This role is for an organised and self-motivated Assistant Patient Pathway Administrator to join the Respiratory team. You will support the administration function of a busy outpatient department, managing patient pathways in line with Trust policy. The role involves working with various outpatient pathways, updating patient records, and ensuring timely appointments. You will contribute to service development and work both independently and as part of a wider administrative team.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in Trust and Department protocols for appointments, ensuring referrals are available for clinic.
- Log onto the Choose and Book national system daily, print outstanding referrals, and upload documents to patient records.
- Distribute referrals to appropriate consultants/team members for triage and ensure their timely return.
- Update EPR and E-Referral systems with appointment details and maintain the E-Referral breach list.
- Liaise with PAB, clinical, and administrative teams to ensure referrals are actioned promptly.
- Make new and follow-up patient appointments on EPR, ensuring patients receive all relevant information.

Job summary
We are seeking an organised, self-motivated and approachable individual, who enjoys working in a challenging and busy environment, to join our friendly team in Respiratory as admin and clerical staff for a busy outpatient department.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the administration function of the service,supporting clinicians to deliver high quality patient care.
You will be responsible for managing all elements of the patient pathway in line with the Trust's Elective Access Policy. You will become familiar with different outpatient pathways and referral to treatment (RTT) status codes. You will work within the wider administrative team to proactively contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the service.
We are looking for somebody with good interpersonal skills in oral and written communication, who is able to communicate in a professional manner across a range of services and professionals.
