Role summary
This role involves joining DGS Health's Adult ADHD Service to provide high-quality, evidence-based care through the NHS Right to Choose pathway. The clinician will undertake comprehensive ADHD assessments, formulate diagnoses, and manage patient treatment journeys, including medication initiation and titration if qualified. They will work within a multidisciplinary team, contribute to service development, and ensure adherence to clinical governance and NICE guidelines. The position supports patients from assessment through to ongoing care and shared care arrangements with GPs.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive ADHD assessments, including developmental and psychiatric history, functional impairment, mental state examination, and risk assessment.
- Formulate diagnoses using DSM-5 and NICE NG87 criteria, presenting complex cases within MDT.
- Initiate and manage ADHD medication (if an Independent Prescriber), including titration, reviews, and physical health monitoring.
- Provide evidence-based patient education on ADHD, medication, lifestyle management, and shared care arrangements.
- Support transfer of prescribing to General Practice through documentation, communication, and clinical advice.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical governance activities, and maintain professional registration and competence.

- Experience assessing adults with neurodevelopmental or mental health conditions.
