Role summary
This role involves co-delivering The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism to health and social care staff within Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. The Co-Facilitator, an expert with lived experience of a learning disability or learning disability with Autism, will share their experiences to help staff understand how to support people with learning disabilities and autistic people. Training sessions include online webinars and in-person sessions, with full training and ongoing support provided to achieve NHS England accreditation.
Essential criteria
- Diagnosis of Learning Disability or Learning Disability with Autism
- Demonstrate good communication skills
- Work well with others as part of the Oliver McGowan training team
- Be reliable, including excellent timekeeping
- Professionally answer questions from delegates with your Co-Facilitators/Trainers
- Describe lived experience to other Co-Facilitators/Trainers and delegates
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with delegates during the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training (this can be through different communication modes)

- Registration as an approved Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training co-trainer
- An ability to work flexibly in accordance with the needs of the role, this may include covering training sessions at short notice
- Personal Skills
- Represent NHS and present a positive image when dealing with all stakeholders
- Supportive of colleagues
- Diagnosis of Learning Disability or Learning Disability with Autism

Job summary
The role plays a key part in delivering The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism to people who work in health and social care services within theCroydon Health Services NHS.
The successful Co-Facilitator will be supported to deliver training to include:
o Learning disability awareness and/or understanding autism.
o Reasonable adjustments.
o Supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people.
o Communication.
TheLearning DisabilityCo-Facilitator willbe co-delivering with a facilitating trainer.
The post holder will be part of an Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Team, alongside other Experts with Lived Experience Co-Facilitator,FacilitatingTrainers, LeadTrainerand support staff.
As a Co-Facilitatoryou be an expert with lived experience and have a diagnosis ofa learning disabilityor learning disability with Autism. You will be encouraged to share your experiences ofhaving a learning disabilityand using health services during the training.
