Role summary
This role supports the NHS Federated Data Platform (FDP), which is central to the NHS's digital transformation, using data and AI to improve healthcare decisions. The Associate Delivery Manager helps coordinate and administer the successful delivery of digital products across NHS trusts, systems, and Integrated Care Boards. Working with Delivery Managers and Product Managers, the post holder supports products through the FDP Product Lifecycle Framework. Key responsibilities include maintaining effective delivery processes, coordinating activities, and managing documentation and governance requirements efficiently.
Essential criteria
- Educated to postgraduate degree/ diploma level or equivalent qualification / delivery experience.
- Working level experience of removing impediments and blockers that get in the way of delivery. Actively tracking, managing, removing, minimising or escalating risks, issues and dependencies and understand how they impact the work of the team.
- Working level experience of Sustaining long-term delivery pace by ensuring the team(s) understand and follow good practices enabling high quality of products (such as agile engineering practices, development standards, definition of done, policies)
Desirable criteria
- Experience of supporting the administration and coordination of delivery activities, including maintaining plans, meeting schedules, action logs, governance packs and programme documentation. Able to ensure information is accurate, up to date and readily available to support effective decision-making
- Experience of collating, maintaining and presenting delivery information through reports, dashboards, minutes and progress updates. Demonstrates strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring delivery teams and stakeholders have access to clear and timely information.
- Working knowledge of Agile and Lean methods and practices principles (such as Scrum & Kanban) as well as Task management, workflow or collaboration tools. e.g. Jira, Confluence, Slack and Miro.
- Working knowledge of product prioritisation, delivery planning and facilitation techniques.
- Awareness of how to manage a broad range of stakeholders, using appropriate communication techniques, to understand their needs and deal with enquiries, requests, complaints to ensure resolution; facilitating discussions within a multidisciplinary team with potentially difficult dynamics.
