Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy Department at Hammersmith Hospital. The role involves supporting the operational management of dispensary, pharmacy stores, and distribution services. The successful candidate will ensure the safe, efficient, and effective supply of medicines and contribute to high-quality patient care. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential, along with a Level 3 in Pharmacy Services and GPhC registration.
Essential criteria
- Level 3 in Pharmacy Services
- Registered Pharmacy technician with the GPhC
- Accredited Checking Technician (or be willing to work towards completion within 18 months of recruitment)
- Mandatory professional CPD as defined by GPhC
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Assessor (or equivalent qualification
- An understanding of all aspects and services provided by a UK hospital pharmacy
- Team leader/management experience
- Experience working in Hospital Pharmacy setting
- Ward stock top up experience
- Training/inducting new members of staff in operational processes
- Collecting data for auditing purposes
- Experience in implementing and managing change
- Skills/knowledge/ abilities
- Understanding of the roles and practice of pharmacy staff
- Analytical ability for problem solving
- To adapt, support and implement changes to operations
- Demonstrates awareness of and commitment to quality customer care
- Experience in using CMM (previously JAC) pharmacy computer system
- Knowledge of automated dispensing systems (Omnicell Robot and CD cupboard)
- Experience dispensing and supplying oral chemotherapy medications using the ChemoCare computer system
- Education / Qualifications

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Department as a Senior Pharmacy Technician for Dispensary, Stores and Distribution on the Hammersmith hospital site, which is part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive individual who is passionate about delivering excellent pharmacy services and ensuring the safe, efficient and effective supply of medicines across the Trust.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the operational management of the dispensary, pharmacy stores and distribution services while contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
You will need good computer skills, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team, and therefore excellent communication skills are essential. You must have a NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification and be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and have mandatory professional CPD as defined by the GPhC.
