Role summary

This is a fixed-term administrative position for nine months, providing confidential secretarial and administrative support to Service consultants, Line Manager, and multi-disciplinary teams. The role requires efficient team operations in a demanding and busy setting, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize tasks. Key duties include typing correspondence at 50-60wpm and managing the consultant's and team's diaries.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide confidential secretarial and administrative support to Service consultants, Line Manager, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ensure efficient and smooth running of the team operations.
  • Type correspondence (50-60wpm), including general letters, reports, communications with legal professionals, patients, manuscripts, and clinical correspondence.
  • Manage the diary of the consultant and team, ensuring information is reflected in Outlook calendar.
  • Input and retrieve information from designated computerised systems (e.g., RIO, Reporting Services, Mosaic).
  • Undertake any other ad hoc secretarial/administrative duties as required by the Lead Consultant, Senior staff and Line Manager.

Essential criteria

  • English GCSE or equivalent
  • Good standard of Written and Spoken English
  • oWorking In a Team.
  • oBasic Office Experience.
  • oWorking as part of an administrative/secretarial team for at least two years.
  • oComputer Literacy.
  • o50-60 wpm copy.
  • oFamiliarity with switchboard duties.
  • oAbility to manage own workload without direct supervision.

  • oKnowledge of Access/Patient Administration systems
