Role summary
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity for a Clinical Research Nurse/Practitioner within the Women's and Children's team at the NIHR Norfolk Clinical Research Facility. The role involves assessing and managing care pathways for patients in clinical trials, recruiting and monitoring participants, and accurately documenting findings. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team, contributing to ground-breaking research studies to improve patient care.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the NMC register OR Degree in a health, life science or research related subject or equivalent experience working within a clinical research environment.
- Understanding of the research process
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work in a variety of areas, i.e. clinics, wards, NIHR CRF facility
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to work well as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and ability to manage own workload
- Clinical skills relevant to the role e.g. phlebotomy, cannulation, ECG recording, administration of IV infusions
- Attitude & Aptitude
- Effective role model, demonstrating NNUH's PRIDE values of People focussed, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence
- Demonstrates understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The NIHR Norfolk Clinical Research Facility (CRF), located at the main hospital and the Quadram Institute (Norwich Research Park) is one of 28 NIHR - partly funded clinical research facilities networked across the UK.Team NNUH's Research and Development department have a position for a Clinical Research Nurse in the Women's and Children's team.
The team's shared goal is; to undertake clinical research to improve treatment and care of patients here at NNUH and beyond. The ideal candidate will be dedicated and recognise the goal's significance; as well as the importance of the Trust PRIDE values. Research is highly regulated; you should have an understanding of trial protocols and policies, and an awareness of research governance.
As post-holder, you will play a key role in ground-breaking research studies. This post is perfect for an organised individual who is happy to work independently and as part of a wider team. We regularly hit targets and are known for the innovative research projects we have facilitated.
