Role summary
This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic Biomedical Scientist to join the flow cytometry team at the Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (HMDS) at St James Hospital, Leeds. Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to join the flow cytometry team at the Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (HMDS), St James Hospital, Leeds with a focus on haemato-oncology molecular work. This is an opportunity to become part of a highly successful department with extensive facilities and high levels of scientific expertise. This is a great opportunity for someone with a haematology/immunology background to gain specialised experience in an exciting field. The flow cytometry team contribute directly to diagnosing leukaemias and other malignancies and the role offers significant learning opportunities.
The post holders will work alongside laboratory based Biomedical Scientists, other advanced Biomedical Scientists, Clinical Scientists and Consultant Haematologist/Haematopathologists to maintain and develop the service.
Main duties of the job
HMDS provides a specialist service for the diagnosis of leukaemia and lymphoma for a number of patients in North, West and East Yorkshire together with patients from outside the region and those enrolled on national clinical trials.
