This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 7 or Band 6 nurse to become the Paediatric Critical Care Lead Nurse. You will work closely with the paediatric critical care consultant, matron, and senior staff, leading the development and implementation of guidelines for the paediatric critical care service. Key responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of guidelines and policies for the paediatric critical care service.
- Work alongside the paediatric critical care consultant, paediatric matron, and senior staff.
- Collaborate closely with the paediatric emergency department team.
- Work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide high standards of care.
- Support practice and work flexibly clinically as required.
Essential criteria
- Mentorship in Practice or other teaching qualification
- Minimum two years band 6 experience
- Awareness of importance of audit or research in improving care
Desirable criteria
- Proven ability to manage own workload and that of others
- Evidence of managing change
- Previous experience of working in a dedicated paediatric critical care / high dependency care environment.
