Role summary
This role is for a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join the Forensic Outreach and Liaison Service (FOLS). You will work with individuals with complex mental health needs and forensic histories, supporting their recovery, independence, and community reintegration. The position involves conducting assessments, delivering person-centred interventions, and building therapeutic relationships to help service users develop practical skills for community living. It offers an opportunity to develop specialist skills within forensic and community mental health services.
Essential criteria
- Hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification
- Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of the importance of meaningful occupation in supporting recovery, wellbeing, and independence
- Knowledge of occupational therapy models and approaches relevant to mental health and rehabilitation practice
- Ability to support individuals to develop functional skills, routines, and confidence within community settings
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of occupational approaches to community integration, social inclusion, and relapse prevention
- Pre-registration experience within mental health settings and/or working with individuals with mental health needs
- Experience of working with service users presenting with complex mental health needs
- Experience of working within rehabilitation, forensic, community, or recovery-focused services
