Role summary
This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Charge Nurse to join the Critical Care team at Bradford Royal Infirmary. The role involves working in a 16-bedded critical care unit, providing visible nursing leadership and high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will also rotate to the critical care outreach team, developing additional skills. The post requires a proactive, experienced nurse with excellent communication and leadership skills to manage critically ill patients and support service development.
Essential criteria
- Minimum 2yrs at band 5 or above in Critical Care or equivalent higher level care setting
- Critical Care Standards Level 1 completed
- Working towards level 2/3
Desirable criteria
- Management of a critical care area
- IV Skills
- Good verbal and written command of English,
- Time and Change Management
- Effective listening and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy
- Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
- Knowledge of the NHS Plan and related National Service Frameworks
- Evidence of self-development and clinical knowledge
- Evidence of involvement in Change Management
- RGN
- Mentorship/Preceptorship ENB 998 or 6590(SLIPS)
- Degree level Courses applicable to specialist area or evidence of working towards. This must be completed within 12months of appointment
- Edward Jenner Leadership Programme or equivalent

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Critical Care team within the Division of Surgery, Anaesthesia and Diagnostics.
Main duties of the job
We are a 16 bedded critical care unit with 8 level 3 beds and 8 level 2 beds. These beds are used flexibly between level 3 and level 2. We admit medical and surgical patients from across the hospital Trust. We offer you an exciting opportunity to work within a dedicated and friendly team committed to high quality patient care. The substantive role includes rotation to the critical care outreach team allowing the successful candidate to develop additional skills and add variety to the position.
