Role summary

Job summary

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity an ambitious registered nurse to join our preassessment team to help the service meet the challenges of elective surgery.

The key role of the successful candidate will be to undertake the preassessment of elective surgical patients using specialised history taking and clinical skills. You should be able to manage your own case load. You will use your experience and clinical skills to provide guidance and support to patients waiting for elective surgery

  • A passion for delivering an excellent patient-focus service
  • Experience in a Preadmissions Unit or Medical/Surgical areas
  • Ability to obtain an in-depth patient history and screen patient medical records
  • Experience in autonomous working
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
  • Be able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with others
  • Teaching and mentorship experience.
  • Willingness to undertake further development and training as required.
