Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Support Worker to join the busy Main Outpatients Department at Royal Gwent Hospital. The successful candidate will work as part of a team, managing Outpatient clinics under supervision. They will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment. The unit provides services for both Surgery and Medicine.
Key responsibilities
- Work as part of a team in the Outpatient Treatment Unit.
- Manage the running of Outpatient clinics with supervision.
- Provide services to both Surgery and Medicine patients.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adapt to a constantly changing work environment.
Essential criteria
- NVQ 2/QCF Level 2 or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting. Experience of working with people
Desirable criteria
- NVQ 3
- Out patients department experience

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Health Care Support Worker who is able to work as part of a team and is also able to manage the running of Outpatient clinics with supervision.
The above post has become vacant in the Main Outpatients Department at Royal Gwent Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The unit is a very busy outpatient facility that offer services to both Surgery and Medicine.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The willingness and ability to work in a constantly changing environment is also an essential requirement.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
