Role summary
This role involves collecting and ensuring the quality of data for external reporting related to Cancer Waiting Times, Cancer Outcomes Services Data Set, and National Cancer Audits. The successful candidate will support the MDT Coordinator team and Clinicians with data collection and entry for various audits. It requires excellent administration skills, attention to detail, and good communication. The post is based at either Colchester or Ipswich Hospital.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure quality data collection for external reporting (Cancer Waiting Times, Cancer Outcomes Services Data Set, National Cancer Audits).
- Undertake and participate in training for the trust EPR system.
- Familiarise with requirements for national Cancer Outcomes Data Set (COSD) collection.
- Support MDT Coordinator team and Clinicians with data collection and entry for audits.
- Support MDT Coordinator team and Clinicians with day-to-day management of clinical audit data.
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of working within National Cancer Pathways
- Communication with stakeholders across different clinical teams and specialties.
- Education to GCSE level or equivalent with experience of working in the NHS
- Use of core Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
Desirable criteria
- Somerset Cancer Database
- Knowledge of National Cancer Audits
- EPIC

Main duties of the job
To ensure that quality data is collected for reporting externally for both Cancer Waiting Times, Cancer Outcomes Services Data Set and National Cancer Audits.
To undertake and participate in initial and any further training requirements relating to trust EPR system
To familiarise yourself with all the requirements for the collection of cancer data which form part of the national Cancer Outcomes Data Set (COSD) collection in line with NDRS (National Disease Registration Service)
To support the MDT Coordinator team and Clinicians with the data collection and entry of audit materials and information for mandatory, non-mandatory and external audits throughout the year
