Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Department Progress Chaser to join the Directorate of Emergency Medicine. Working closely with the Nurse in Charge, you will support patient flow within the Emergency Department by chasing investigations and liaising with multidisciplinary teams. The role involves producing a daily log of actions for breach analysis and requires someone committed to personal development, able to manage a busy workload, and possessing excellent communication skills. This is a part-time, fixed-term position for 6 months.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with the Nurse in Charge to support patient flow within the Emergency Department.
- Chase investigations with the guidance of the Nurse in Charge.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to support timely discharges and transfers.
- Produce a daily log of actions to support 4-hour breach analysis.
- Present the daily log to your line manager following each shift.
Essential criteria
- oGCSE or equivilant
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an acute hospital setting
- Has knowledge of current KPIs for Emergency Departments
- Proficient in the use of IT systems; Microsoft Office, Excel, word and Outlook
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Organised / Efficient / Customer focussed
- Excellent telephone manner

Emergency Department Progress Chaser - Band 3An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Directorate of Emergency Medicine. Working closely with the Nurse in Charge you will play a crucial role within the Directorate supporting patient flow within the Emergency Department.
We are looking for a full time on 3 x 12 hour shifts per week.
