Job summary

The Senior Radiographer (CT & MRI) is an autonomous practitioner responsible for delivering a high-quality, patient-centred diagnostic imaging service across Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The post holder will undertake a wide range of specialist and complex examinations, including trauma, emergency, cardiac, paediatric and interventional procedures, ensuring safe and effective care in accordance with professional, legal and regulatory requirements.

Working as a senior member of the Radiology team, the post holder will provide expert clinical support, supervision and guidance to radiographers, assistant practitioners, support workers and students. They will act as a key point of reference within CT and MRI, contributing to service improvement, clinical governance, quality assurance, education and workforce development.

The role includes participation in a seven-day service and out-of-hours/on-call rota, requiring independent decision-making and prioritisation in environments where direct access to senior clinical support may be limited.
