Role summary
This role involves managing the daily operations of the Podiatry and Surgical appliance office, ensuring administrative tasks are completed, and a quality service is delivered. The post holder will assist supervising podiatrists with complex treatments and provide administrative support. Key duties include handling telephone and written enquiries, complaints, and supporting foot care and health promotion activities. The majority of the role focuses on administrative duties, with opportunities for clinical support.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the administrative needs of the Podiatry and Orthotics Service, including procurement and invoice administration.
- Providing basic foot care to patients under the direction of Podiatrists.
- Booking and rearranging appointments for the Surgical Appliance/Orthotic department and Podiatry service.
- Arranging patient appointments, including hospital transport, and ensuring clinics are at full capacity.
- Processing new applications and actioning changes to the clinical programme due to staff absence.
Essential criteria
- Level II or equivalent demonstrable experience of administrative / office skills and knowledge
- Agored level 3 qualification to be undertaken or have equivalent experience
- Will be willing to undertake in house Podiatry assistants training programmes
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including spread sheets and data bases
- Experience working with clients on an individual basis
- Significant experience of working in a busy office
- Excellent word processing / spreadsheet skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience in a health care setting
- Extensive experience in dealing with the general public particularly the elderly either on the telephone or face-to-face
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1)

Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring day to day running of the Podiatry and Surgical appliance office, as well as ensuring that admin tasks are met, and a quality service is delivered.
The role will also include:
Provide assistance to a supervising podiatrist in the delivery of complex podiatric treatment and admin support where necessary.
Assist the podiatrist to carry out foot care and health promotion activities.
To receive and initially deal with telephone and written enquiries and complaints. Dealing with urgent matters appropriately, ensuring that Department procedures are followed in order to record/follow-up as necessary.
