Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities within the Aseptic Unit, acting as the lead point of contact and managing staff activities, workflow, and operational tasks.
- Undertake the preparation and quality checking of aseptic and non-sterile medicinal products, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition, following approved procedures and maintaining technical competencies.
- Perform supervisory and accuracy checking duties within Technical Services, monitoring production processes, reviewing documentation, supporting GMP standards, and escalating quality concerns.
- Support the maintenance of safe pharmaceutical production environments by coordinating cleaning schedules, monitoring facility standards, ensuring environmental compliance, and promoting safe handling practices.
- Manage stock control activities within Technical Services, maintaining accurate records, completing stock checks, investigating discrepancies, supporting procurement, and assisting with specialist products.
- Contribute to team development and service improvement by mentoring colleagues, supporting staff training, maintaining professional knowledge, and identifying opportunities to improve technical processes.
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Experience working within an Aseptic Pharmacy or Technical Services environment.
- Knowledge of GMP, quality assurance, and safe aseptic preparation practices.
- Strong IT, communication, and workload management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to supervise, train, and support pharmacy staff within a controlled environment.
