Role summary
As Corporate Governance Manager, you will ensure strong, effective, and compliant governance across NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT). You will work closely with the Board Chair, Company Secretary, and Board members to lead systems and processes that support confident decision-making and organisational accountability. This role involves providing expert governance advice, overseeing Board and committee business, and strengthening governance arrangements. You will make a meaningful contribution at the heart of the organisation, developing governance practice and leading a skilled team.
Essential criteria
- Hold a Masters degree in a relevant subject area OR Educated to post-graduate degree level PLUS extensive knowledge and experience in the field of corporate governance.
- Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD).
- Experience of holding a corporate governance management role and working effectively with a Board of Directors.
- Proven significant experience coordinating Board of Directors and Board committee meetings.
- Experience of effective and appropriate minute taking.
- Experience of planning and organising a broad range of activities in relation to allocated/related projects.
- Experience of analysing data and to inform reporting and summarising high-level discussions.
- Sound experience of board and corporate governance systems and processes and legal implications.
- Knowledge and experience of Board and Committee management processes and good administrative practices and the roles and relationships between the Chair, Chief Executive, Executive Directors and Non-Executive Directors and Secretariat.
- Experience of managing staff.
