Role summary
This is an opportunity for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and highly motivated leader to join a multidisciplinary team as a Unit Manager. You will provide clinical, professional, and managerial leadership, ensuring high-quality care and a positive patient experience within rehabilitation and frailty services. The role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, troubleshooting challenges, and promoting a positive learning environment to deliver harm-free care. Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership for the ward-based multidisciplinary team.
- Oversee the day to day operation of the service, reporting to the Rehab Lead and Head of Clinical quality.
- Hold direct line management responsibility for the senior nursing team and wider workforce.
- Oversee the daily needs of the patient cohort and ensure safe service provision.
- Troubleshoot and react responsively to daily challenges including staffing, patient concerns, and safety issues.
- Support the delivery of high quality harm-free care with oversight of standards, KPIs, and audited service targets.
Essential criteria
- Experience of leadership skills and change management
- IT skills and clinical systems skills
- Team management experience
- Management of complex issues (patient, staff)
- Problem solving skills
- Professional qualification in Healthcare (nursing, PT/OT etc.)
- Current professional registration
- FLAP course or other post-grad university education
- Managerial training
Desirable criteria
- Experience undertaking service review and redesign
- Experience in performance management
- Ability to manage and lead within own initative
- Financial awareness
- Post-grad management/leadership course
