Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Finance Analyst to join the Finance Team. The post holder will support financial reporting, data analysis, income validation, and reconciliation activities. They will work with complex financial, workforce, and operational datasets, ensuring accuracy and meaningful presentation for decision-making. The role involves contributing to financial reports, contract income schedules, and forecasting information, working closely with Finance Managers and operational colleagues to investigate variances and improve processes.
Key responsibilities
- Produce, validate and reconcile financial, workforce and operational information for accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Extract data from multiple systems, maintain audit trails, and ensure information used for decision making is complete and reliable.
- Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports, undertake detailed reconciliations, and investigate variances.
- Support month end and year end financial processes, including validating contract income information and reconciling data between systems.
- Analyse large and complex datasets, prepare information for planning, forecasting and efficiency programmes, and present findings clearly.
- Contribute to the development of reporting tools, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential criteria
- GCSE Maths and English Grade 4+ (C or above)
Desirable criteria
- Level 4 AAT Qualification or actively studying for a CCAB qualification or equivalent relevant experience.

- Ability to understand, troubleshoot and develop macros&92;VBA, Power Query&92;data models
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to manipulate, analyse, reconcile and present large datasets using formulas, PivotTables, lookup functions, filtering and data validation techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of data analysis techniques, data quality principles and the interpretation of complex datasets
- Knowledge of computerised systems
- Able to work as part of a team and independently
- Evidence of past achievements and ability to prioritise, plan workload and act on own initiative
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst producing accurate results
- Ability to adapt to changing and conflicting priorities from more than one manager at any one time
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to people at all levels within the organisation

- Experience of working in NHS Finance

Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Finance Analyst to join our Finance Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong analytical and Excel skills to play a key role in supporting financial reporting, data analysis, income validation and reconciliation activities across the Trust.
The post holder will work with large and complex financial, workforce and operational datasets, ensuring information is accurate, reliable and presented in a meaningful way to support decision-making. You will contribute to the production of financial reports, contract income schedules and forecasting information that support the effective delivery of healthcare services.
Working closely with Finance Managers, Business Partners and operational colleagues, you will investigate variances, undertake reconciliations, support reporting automation and identify opportunities to improve processes and data quality.
