Role summary
This role is for a Band 6 Specialist Wellbeing Nurse to support individuals with severe mental illness in improving their physical health and overall quality of life. The nurse will conduct holistic assessments, provide health promotion, and collaborate with GP practices, patients, and other healthcare partners. It requires strong clinical knowledge, communication skills, and a passion for reducing health inequalities. The position involves managing a caseload and working autonomously within a supportive team.

- Evidence of effective communication skills including the ability to engage positively with service users
- Demonstrable skills in risk assessment and risk management
- Ability to analyse and present complex information to professional colleagues.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work autonomously managing workload to meet mandatory targets.
- Ability to maintain accurate and contemporaneous data using the electronic records system.
Desirable criteria
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to motivate others
- Knowledge of a range of medications used to treat mental health conditions including side effects and monitoring tests required that could impact the patients health and wellbeing
- A sound knowledge of a range of mental health issues and the factors that contribute to mental health.

- Experience and understanding of risk assessment and risk management.
- Experience of collaboration working with other agencies including the voluntary sector
- Participation in audit and/or research
- Experience of supervising student placements.
- Teaching/presentation experience.
- Lone working
- Professional Qualification RGN (Degree or equivalent)
- Professional Registration RGN or RMN
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Post graduate education in subject relevant to mental health.
- MSLAP or equivalent Mentor training
