This Band 3 Family Care Support Worker/Mental Health Support Worker role at Luton and Dunstable Hospital involves supporting patients and their families across various care settings. Key responsibilities
- Assist trained staff in delivering care to babies, children, young people (BCYP) and their families, ensuring high standards of care.
- Carry out basic observations, admission assessments, and phlebotomy skills on BCYP under supervision.
- Support BCYP with basic hygiene, nutritional requirements, and mental health needs, including 1:1 supervision if required.
- Supervise BCYP with stable high dependency needs (e.g., tracheostomies) and those with SEND needs after appropriate training.
- Complete daily quality checks to ensure a safe ward environment and monitor standards, participating in safety audits.
- Liaise with the multidisciplinary team, update professional staff on clinical conditions, and maintain accurate records for children.

- GCSE Grade 4/C in maths and English
