Role summary
Join the Estates and Maintenance team to provide skilled mechanical maintenance, fault finding, and repair services across Health Board sites. You will work on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment, including heating, air conditioning, steam systems, and generators. The role involves both planned preventative maintenance and emergency repairs, with participation in on-call and shift relief arrangements. The ideal candidate will have a recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship and experience in an engineering maintenance environment.
Essential criteria
- Completed an accredited Mechanical apprenticeship training course to a minimum level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent plus relevant training or equivalent experience, plus additional training and developed skills, e.g. air conditioning.
- Familiarity with approved guidance documents.
- High level of knowledge and understanding of electrical/mechanical services/systems and a working knowledge of other associated trades.
- Current Full Driving licence to drive Health Board vehicles

- JIB Registration
- Experience working on the following: Fire Alarm Systems Generators Lifts BMS engineering maintenance
- Completion of a structured training programme and Previous experience of working within the NHS.
