Job summary
Assistant Costing and Income Accountant
The primary responsibility for the Assistant Costing and Income Accountant is to support the development of Service-line Reporting (SLR) and Patient-level Information and Costing System (PLICS). Support the completion of the annual National Costs Collection submission for the Trust. Provide support to Head of Income on income analysis, invoicing and queries including journal input and period end queries.
Main duties of the job
Costing
Support on the development of the Patient-level Information and Costing System (PLICS) with the following aims:
1. An understanding of patient-level costs at all levels of the organisation in order to drive improvements in efficiency and quality in service delivery, and
2. The development of prices for NHS work not covered by the National Tariff Payment System (NTPS) and for non-NHS work.
Support on the improvement of the PLICS and SLR dashboards, through discussion with clinical, nursing and operational leads.
Support in producing SLR/PLICS for Community Services and model impact upon profitability of community tariffs and associated income tariffs where applicable.
