Role summary

This role is for a dynamic Senior Occupational Therapist within the Home Treatment Team, focusing on crisis resolution and delivering rapid, high-impact assessments and interventions in clients' homes. You will champion the value of OT by empowering individuals, promoting occupational resilience, and preventing hospital admissions. The position requires an adaptable clinician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values being part of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and provide the Occupational Therapy contribution within the multi-disciplinary service.
  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate therapeutic interventions for identified clients.
  • Manage a defined caseload of service users with occupational needs using evidence based, client centred principles.
  • Provide supervision to designated junior staff and students.
  • Manage complex case loads presenting with complex and dynamic risks.
  • Promote Occupational Therapy in the service and keep an occupational focus at the centre of practice.

Essential criteria

  • A recognised Occupational Therapist professional qualification
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience in clinical practice, holding a range of experience within a variety of settings
  • Manage a defined caseload of service users with occupational needs using evidence based, service user centred, health promotion and relapse prevention orientated principles and practice
  • Experience of clinical risk management and complex clients
  • Knowledge in the application of relevant OT theoretical models, and approaches relevant to service user group.
  • Ability to make decisions and work co-operatively as part of an inter-professional team

Desirable criteria

  • oTrained as a Practice Educator with experience of managing learners in the work place.
  • Experience of being involved in service developments or audits
  • Computer literate. Able to use Microsoft products including Teams, e-mail, Word, Excel and access Internet resources
