Role summary

This role is for a Registered Nurse or ODP in Theatres, working 24/7, 365 days a year, including evenings, nights, on-calls, Bank Holidays, and weekends. You will rotate across all theatre areas, assisting patients undergoing various elective and emergency procedures. Responsibilities include preparing the theatre, managing sterile equipment, and working effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and comfort. You will also provide on-call and out-of-hours support for acutely ill patients.

Job summary

We are recruiting for Registered Practitioner - Theatres who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Our service now includes admission and recovery of elective patients and a continued emergency service for the Trust. Our team works 24/7, 365 days a year. As part of a rotation with other team members, you'll be expected to work evenings, nights, on calls, Bank Holidays, and weekends.

This role is within Theatres, there is an expectation to be rotated across all theatre areas including the QE2 to assist and care for patients undergoing a variety of elective (Vascular, Orthopaedics, Urology, Obstetrics & Gynae, Obstetrics, Plastics, Robotics, ENT, Oral Surgery, Ophthalmology, General Surgery) and Emergency procedures.

Candidates invited to interview will also be asked to participate in a practical element as part of the selection process. This practical element will test theatre knowledge and practice.
