Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Band 6 physiotherapist or experienced Band 5 to join the Physiotherapy department at Royal Papworth Hospital. The role involves working independently within multiple clinical teams, managing a diverse caseload of cardiorespiratory patients, and participating in service development projects, audits, and research. You will also mentor students and junior staff, contributing to a skilled and supportive team dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes.
Essential criteria
- BSc/ Pre- Reg MSc/ Grad. Dip. in Physiotherapy
- HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
- CSP member
- Specialist interest group membership e.g. ACPRC
- Clinical pillar
- Experience managing cardiorespiratory patients independently, including critical care, medical and surgical patients
- Knowledge of common cardiac & respiratory conditions, demonstrate sound clinical reasoning and planning of treatment options
- Experience of respiratory management and rehabilitation in complex patients
- Ability to work independently and prioritise own workload and delegate effectively to others
- Experience of on call and weekend working
- Leadership pillar
- Experience of supervision & mentorship of junior staff and/or students
- Ability to work autonomously and be a team player
- Evidence of excellent communication skills, including verbal, non-verbal and written.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Band 6 physiotherapist or experienced Band 5 to join the Physiotherapy department at Royal Papworth Hospital. We are seeking an individual who is confident, flexible and able to work independently within multiple clinical teams.
You will join a skilled, supportive and innovative Physiotherapy team that works closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Royal Papworth Hospital is recognised internationally for excellence in cardiothoracic care, providing a collaborative environment where continuous learning, service improvement and professional development are actively encouraged.
Rotations are in the following areas - Transplant & Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic & PEA Surgery, Intensive Care Unit, Respiratory Medicine wards and outpatient clinics (including Bronchiectasis, ILD, & Pulmonary Hypertension) and Cystic Fibrosis.
You will also gain experience in Respiratory Support Sleep Centre and cardiology services, what we provide to you:
