Role summary
This role is for an experienced, organised, and proactive Medical Secretary to join the Community Child Health team at Kaleidoscope. You will provide vital support to Consultants, Specialty Doctors, and multidisciplinary teams, managing correspondence, referrals, patient administration, and diary management. The position involves being a key point of contact for families, clinicians, GPs, and partner organisations, ensuring high-quality service delivery. Essential criteria
- Good standard of education to at least GCSE standard including Maths and English
- RSA stage 3/OCR Text processing level 3 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- NVQ level 4 in administration
- EDCL or equivalent
- Secretarial and/or administrative experience
- Experience of dealing with the public
- Experience of handling sensitive and confidential information
- Fast and accurate typing/keyboard skills
- Experience of working in the NHS
- Experience of using digital dictation systems
- Knowledge and Skills
- Able to use a PC for word processing to a high standard
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Able to use databases, spreadsheets, and other software packages to a high standard, to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
- Knowledge of office organisation and procedures, including how to set up and maintain office systems
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
- Ability to prioritise and manage time-sensitive workloads within defined targets
- Knowledge of RIO or similar data base
