Role summary
This part-time role provides administrative support to the Audiology service, ensuring efficient patient management from referral to discharge. The post holder will process referrals, schedule appointments, and manage clinic changes.
Key responsibilities
- Manage patient appointments and clinic bookings.
- Coordinate patient pathways and support waiting list management.
- Maintain accurate records on EPR and other Trust systems.
- Manage clinic changes, cancellations, and diary schedules.
- Ensure patient records are handled in line with Information Governance requirements.
- Process referrals and ensure patients are booked into appropriate clinics.
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Care or acquired equivalent experience
- GCSE or equivalent
- Experience of using of IT systems and patient data systems
- Experience of scheduling outpatient appointments and/or admissions
- Experience of working with patients and providing information regarding their appointments or treatment team
- Accurate data entry, typing and checking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
- Understanding of patient priorities and performance targets related to appointments and waiting times
- Knowledge of healthcare administrative systems and processes
Desirable criteria
- Computer Literacy Course, e.g. ECDL
- Experience of handling patient complaints
