Role summary

This role involves joining the Facilities Environmental Co-ordinator Team within a busy in-patient setting. The post holder will support the Facilities Management Team and Clinical Teams, ensuring the environment, including hospitals and in-patient areas, is clean, tidy, safe, and maintained to appropriate standards. Responsibilities also include assisting the clinical team with patient meals and acting on own initiative within Health & Safety Policy guidelines.

  • Level 2 Health & Safety Certificate.
  • Level 3 Food Safety Certificate.
  • I. L.M level 3 or N.E.B.S.S Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience of working to Health and Safety legislation.
  • Experience in undertaking audits.
  • Experience using Microsoft packages.
  • Understanding of Infection Control.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety including COSHH/risk assessments/manual handling activities.
  • Knowledge of stock control procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant NHS procedures and practices, including legal requirements.
  • Contractual Requirements
  • Comply to Personal Appearance Standards and Personal Protective Equipment (Staff Uniform).
  • A full, current UK driving licence and access to a vehicle fit and insured for business use are required for this post. Reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled staff in line with the Equality Act 2010.
  • To attend training on other sites within the Nottinghamshire NHS Trust.
  • Experienced driver, able to drive Trust vehicle.

Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individual who have the relevant skills to join Facilities and become part of the Environmental Co-ordinator Team, in a busy in-patient setting.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the Facilities Services team, the post holder will support the Facilities Management Team and the Clinical Teams and be responsible for ensuring that the environment including, hospitals and in-patient areas, The post holder will have a central base and may be required to cover other sites.
