Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Physiotherapist to join a dynamic and supportive team at the Newberry Child Development Centre. The role involves working across acute and community settings, including clinics, patient homes, schools, and the hospital ward, covering a diverse caseload of children aged 0-19 years. The successful applicant will manage a varied clinical caseload, determine diagnoses and treatments autonomously, and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team. Training and supervision will be provided, and applicants should have a specific interest in paediatrics and relevant post-graduate experience.
Essential criteria
- Diploma / BSc / MSc in Physiotherapy
- Current Health Care Professions Council registration
- CPD record should include evidence of up-to-date relevant post graduate training and reflections of learning
- Experience and knowledge
- Experience and interest in working with children
- Evidence of Self-directed learning, including awareness of new research and professional practice
- Working knowledge of clinical governance and implications for own work
- Experience of multidisciplinary and multi-agency working to include education and social care
- Understanding of legal, safeguarding and mental capacity issues with respect to children and young people
- Skills, abilities and competencies
- Good rapport with a wide variety of people including team working and delegation
- Good verbal and written communication skills / Basic IT skills / presentation skills
- Proactive, able to act independently with minimum supervision and to act on own initiative - problem solving and knowing own limitations
- Ability to prioritise and organise own workload and that of others and working under pressure
- Ability to travel within the Great Yarmouth & Waveney area. Must hold a full current driving licence in order to fulfil the duties of the post, including visits to families' homes

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic, friendly and supportive Paediatric Physiotherapy team based at the Newberry Child Development centre. The work would involve working across the acute and community paediatric settings including clinics at the children's centre, patient's homes, special and mainstream schools and the ward at the James Paget University Hospital. The post would cover a diverse paediatric caseload with children 0-19 years. Our team is highly specialised and can offer training and support to further develop members of staff with less knowledge and experience.
Our team is part of the community paediatric Team within the James Paget University Hospital, working closely with paediatric occupational therapists, paediatric dieticians, paediatricians and children's nursing team. The position involves multidisciplinary working, including a variety of joint clinics in different clinical areas.
The hospital and Child Development Centre are geographically based on the beautiful Norfolk coast; a rural community within easy access to the bustling city of Norwich. We have close links with the University of East Anglia and University of Suffolk.
We are looking for applicants with a specific interest in paediatrics and with some post-graduate paediatric physiotherapy experience.
