Role summary
This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician to lead the operational management, governance, and strategic development of Homecare Medicines Services. The role involves ensuring safe, effective, and sustainable delivery of homecare medicines, working with various teams and external providers. You will oversee existing services, introduce new therapies, and ensure compliance with national standards. The postholder will also provide professional and operational leadership to the Homecare team, drive improvement projects, and represent the Trust at regional and national forums.
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable specialist knowledge and experience in Homecare.
- City & Guilds BTEC or NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services OR MPharm
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice

- Further clinical, research, leadership or management qualifications
- Aptitude & Abilities
- Good communication skills, written and verbal, with proven ability to demonstrate fluency, clarity and effectiveness at all levels.

Are you an experienced Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician ready to lead and transform Homecare Medicines Services within one of the South West's largest teaching hospitals?
University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking an ambitious and motivated Lead Pharmacy Technician - Homecare or Specialist Pharmacist - Homecare to take on a pivotal role in the operational management, governance, development and future direction of our Homecare Medicines Service.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled pharmacy professional with expertise in homecare medicines, procurement, medicines optimisation and service improvement. You will lead a dedicated team, work closely with pharmacists, clinicians, finance teams and external providers, and play a key role in ensuring that patients receive safe, effective and high-quality care through our homecare services.
