Key responsibilities
- Lead a team of Scrub Practitioners to facilitate the smooth running of theatres.
- Ensure day-to-day operation reflects the highest standard of governance, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care.
- Guide and support team members.
- Actively be involved in the delivery of patient care.
- Work in 11 Operating Theatres within elective and emergency pathways.
- Work weekends and night shifts as part of the position.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse or registered ODP
- Teaching and Supervision qualification
- Level 6 Qualification
- Evidence of Continuous professional Development e.g. Theatre course
- Extensive experience in theatre scrub and team lead in orthopaedic theatre
- Evidence of continuous Professional Development
- Teaching and assessment experience
- Theatre Experience min 3 - 4 speciality
- Ability to organise day to day theatre activities
- Abilty to Lead and delegate appropriately in Theatre
- Excellent verbal and written and interpersonal communication skill
- Demonstrate HEART value and compression in practice
- Positively influence others in your daily activities and communication
Desirable criteria
- L6 or above academic level
- Management training
- Knowledge of current issues in operating theatre
- Knowledge of people management
- Appraisal skill
- Competent IT skill
- Flexible approach to service development request
- Critical analysis and reflect on own practice to seek improvement
