Role summary
This is a Band 4 Lead Pharmacy Assistant role, acting as Deputy Manager for Stores and Stock Distribution at Alexandra Hospital. Key responsibilities
- Manage Lead Pharmacy Assistants and a team of assistants within the Stores and Stock Distribution sections.
- Ensure high levels of service for medicine distribution to wards and other pharmacy sites.
- Act as a role model for pharmacy assistants.
- Take responsibility for the prompt, effective receipt and distribution of medicines between all three Acute Hospital sites.
- Be involved in service and staff development.
Essential criteria
- Computer skills for using pharmacy computer systems and Microsoft office software.
- Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety at Work
- Experience of successfully delivering technical pharmacy services as an assistant in a hospital or community setting.
- GCSE grade A to C in English, Maths and Science
- NVQ level 2 in pharmacy
- Able to train, lead and motivate a team.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of successfully delivering technical pharmacy services as a Senior/Lead pharmacy assistant in a hospital or community setting.
- Experience of receiving and issuing pharmaceutical products.
- Experience of leading a team and facilitating service delivery.
- Experience of managing of staff including workload and personnel issues.
