Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Haematology team as a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker. The role involves assisting doctors and nurses in providing specialist, high-quality care to patients with Haematological conditions in the Day Unit and Outpatients department. The successful applicant will deliver holistic, patient-centred care and work with multi-professional teams. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
Essential criteria
- oNVQ Level 3 in care oDemonstrate basic numeracy and literacy skills
Desirable criteria
- oWillingness to undertake further training to expand the role
- oRecent clinical experience
- oRecent clinical experience in a speciality area
- oAn understanding of Trust Policy and Procedure
- oAn understanding of current issues relating to the NHS.
- oCompetent in defined practical skills (e.g. venepuncture) or willingness to undertake oPatient focused. oGood communication and interpersonal skills oCapable of dealing with sensitive and distressing situations oAble to use initiative. oBasic IT skills
- oPhlebotomy competent.
- Commitment to Trust Values and Behaviours
- oMust be able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trust's values. (As detailed in UHCW's Values in Action document below) oApplicants applying for job roles with managerial responsibility will be required to demonstrate evidence of promoting equal opportunities through work experience
