Role summary
This graduate scheme offers an exciting opportunity to join the NHS and develop a career in financial leadership. You will gain varied experience across finance functions, including financial management and business partnering, while studying for a professional accountancy qualification (ACCA). The program aims to develop future finance leaders through complex, challenging environments and collaboration with clinicians. Trainees will be supported with increasing responsibility and guided by a Graduate Lead.
Key responsibilities
- Work across various finance functions, gaining experience in financial management, business partnering, and financial planning.
- Rotate through placements within your employing NHS Wales organisation's finance department.
- Participate in centrally provided placements on core financial services like accounts payable and payroll.
- Study for and achieve an accredited professional accountancy qualification (ACCA) over 3 years.
- Work in complex, challenging environments, partnering with clinicians and other professionals.

The scheme will stretch you and give you the opportunity to develop your financial management and leadership skills whilst studying for a professional accountancy qualification (ACCA). Designed to develop the next generation of finance leaders you will work in complex, challenging environments in partnership with clinicians and other professionals.
Trainees will be supported through formal activities, opportunistic events and be guided by their Graduate Lead. It is expected that the level of responsibility and degree of difficulty / complexity of the work required from trainees will increase over the duration of the programme.
