Role summary
The East Midlands Cancer Alliance (EMCA) is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Improvement Manager to lead high-profile cancer improvement programmes across the region. This role involves leading complex pathway improvement projects from inception to delivery, supporting providers to improve cancer performance and deliver sustainable change. You will collaborate with NHS Trusts, ICBs, and clinical leaders to transform cancer services and improve patient outcomes. The role spans various cancer improvement programmes, including Faster Diagnosis Standard improvement and Clinical Pathway Redesign. It requires strong project management skills and the ability to build effective relationships across organisations.
Essential criteria
- Degree level or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Diploma level qualification or experience in specialist area
- Communication and Relationship Skills
- Provide and receive highly complex/sensitive/contentious information where there maybe barriers to understanding that will need developed persuasion, negotiation, reassurance and empathy skills
- Analytical and judgement skills
- Complex facts, situation that require analysis, interpretation and comparison to ensure compliance
- Planning and organisational skills
- Plan and organise a broad range complex activities requiring formulation and adjustment. Facilitate collaborative working, implement new ways of working
- Responsibilities for policy and service deployment implementation
- Lead on service development for specialist area. Lead on policy development for specific area that may have wider implications for working practices
- Responsibilities for financial and physical resources
- Hold delegated budget for service area. Authorised signatory for expenses and small payments
- Responsibilities for human resources
- Line manager for department. Manage the delivery of teaching and development interventions
- Responsibilities for information resources
