Role summary
This role is for a Bank Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to provide specialist mental health input to patients receiving physical care in a general hospital setting. You will assist general hospital colleagues in complex treatment decisions and deliver nursing and psychosocial interventions. - Knowledge of working therapeutically with individuals following self-harm
- Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and the Mental Health Act and their use in the general hospital
- Knowledge of the clinical and demographic risk factors associated with self-harm and suicide
- Skills and Abilities
- Evidence of effective organisational and time management skills
- Skills in assessing, planning implementing and evaluating mental health nursing interventions
- Ability to interact therapeutically with distressed and/or disturbed individuals and/or those in crisis
- Skills in interacting effectively with colleagues from a range of specialties and departments
- Health, safety and security
- Knowledge of Nursing and Psychiatric interventions with patients in an acute phase of mental illness /distress
- Knowledge of risk assessment and management particularly in relation to suicide
- Education and Qualifications

The ideal candidates for this role will be available to work at short notice as these shifts will more often than not be last minute. ****
