Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Acute OT Therapies Team at Langley Green Hospital in Crawley. The role involves providing specialist occupational therapy assessment, treatment planning, and interventions to adults with acute mental health needs, focusing on recovery. You will lead on one ward, contribute to discharge planning, and facilitate group work. The position also includes clinical supervision and leadership support for junior staff and students.
Essential criteria
- Degree/Diploma in occupational therapy
- Registration with the HCPC as an occupational therapist
- Evidence of continuous professional development
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with a range of complex mental health problems
- Experience of working in an acute inpatient setting
- Experience of both group and individual work
- Experience in applying a range of OT assessment tools and a comprehensive knowledge of OT clinical approaches used in mental health
- Experience of supervising staff and students

Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of adults facing mental health challenges? Langley Green Hospital in Crawley is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Band 6 Occupational Therapist with experience of working with people with mental health difficulties to join our dynamic Acute OT Therapies Team. The role is 30 hours per week.
You will take a lead for one of our wards and be responsible for providing specialist occupational therapy assessment, treatment planning, and 1:1 and group interventions to adults with acute mental health needs, taking a recovery-focused approach.
You will be an integral part of the ward multidisciplinary team and play a key role in contributing to safe and effective discharges.
We welcome candidates with effective communication and organisation skills, a compassionate, person-centred approach, able to demonstrate confidence and self-awareness and above all a caring attitude and desire to make a difference.
