Role summary
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated Theatre Team Leader to join the team at Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves specialising as a senior scrub practitioner within both obstetric and gynaecological theatres, including those with a Davinci Robot. The successful candidate will act as a role model to junior staff, facilitate new initiatives, and contribute to policy development. The Trust offers excellent training programmes, including a leadership and development program.
Essential criteria
- Ability to develop and maintain communication with people about difficult matters and/or in difficult situations.
- Able to demonstrate effective management, interpersonal, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Evidence of the ability to lead, manage, coordinate, delegate and motivate a theatre team and review performance.
- Understanding of the skills and knowledge required to develop team members.
- Experience of mentorship and an ability to identify learning and development needs.
- Significant relevant theatre experience
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Documented evidence of a wide range of theatre skills
- Ability to demonstrate a mindset that embraces change as an opportunity
- Can demonstrate the ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Qualification in ODP or RN
- Anaesthetic/Recovery or Scrub qualification.
- Degree or equivalent experience

- Work Related Circumstances
- Flexible working shifts pattern including nights, weekends and on call.
- Good general health and attendance record

Job summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated theatre team leader to join our team.
You will specialise as a senior scrub practitioner within both obstetric and gynaecological theatres.
We are proud to have a Davinci Robot within our theatres and have two dedicated obstetric theatre night teams. Our education team are focused on ensuring staff development and opportunities, providing excellent training programmes. Training also includes a leadership and development program, aiming to create managers and leaders of the future.
We are looking for experienced, forward thinking and highly motivated staff who can take the lead, acting as a role model to junior staff and facilitating new initiatives, change and policy development. Previous obstetric experience is desirable and applicants must be able to demonstrate expertise in theatre experience and have appropriate UK professional registration.
Main duties of the job
Function as the lead practitioner for an operating theatre or a designated area, acting as a role model for the clinical team.
Demonstrate ability to function competently both as a leader and as a member of the multidisciplinary team.
Participate in the scrub rota, including the on call rota, and be the lead practitioner
